Terror Of Missing Out !!

I think its fine to say that majority of us have a perturbation of “missing out”. We don’t want to miss one social meeting or gathering because we are scared that we’ll be excluded in the future. We stay up late –doing a set of extraneous things just to stay up to date.
We scan facebook relentlessly. We don’t want to miss a gossip, or a not so important news update from an acquaintance we haven’t seen for years. Sites such as Linkedin are used exclusively for networking and continuous need to improve your social media ranking. And if no one endorses you????

I have a fear of missing out too. There are so many times I have marked that I “ll stay at home and read, but it’s a bit disturbing to miss party with our friends. Two of my friends confessed that we go to each and every gathering because we don’t want to miss out. This addiction is so severe that even we have decided to disconnect or detach, we still connect just once more, just to make sure.
Sometimes I feel like I should stop feeling that I’ll miss out on things .Life will still be good –it will be fine. The times I spent in torture and tension can be freed up to be used in doing something more useful-only if I freed the spot.
Too many times we hang on to poor decisions because we fear that we’ll miss out if instantly things go well. Too many times we stay, we stop, and we let ourselves be confined in a certain bad situation because we are afraid that if we just wait a little longer, it might go actually well.
Well perhaps it wouldn’t.
Don’t wait just because you are afraid to miss a chance that might not ever going to come. As rightly said by someone “Don’t do something just because you are afraid you’ll miss out”.
Do something, not just because.
